It has always been my desire to bring technology solutions, often found only in mega-churches, to the local church. One of the items high on my list has been LED video walls – and I’ve just not been able to find a provider that makes a quality, well supported product at a value price point – the technology has remained a very custom, high-ticket item available only for big-budget churches.
Until now, that is.
I’ve just commissioned an 8′ x 30′, P5 (5MM dot pitch) LED video wall for Inspire Church of Waipahu, Hawaii (www.inspirechurch.tv). The process from start to finish was a sort-of “testing of the waters,” from building a relationship with the manufacturer, to working out pricing, to completing this installation (which is the first of this brand in the US.) I can confidently say that the solution is more than ready.
The results at Inspire Church were nothing short of amazing, with vivid colors, extremely high contrast, and simplicity of operation. What’s more, this high quality product can be had for a fraction of what these solutions cost in the past. As a point of reference, if you are considering any kind of large, high-brightness projection (10,000 lumens +) then an LED wall is in the realm of possibility for your organization.
Please check back for more information, and photographs of this beautiful installation.
As part of this process, I’ve also discovered that there is very little information available on selection and pricing of LED walls. I plan to change that, with a series of articles on this site to assist churches considering an LED wall.
